After a successful season 1, thanks to the help of high calibre Rocket League organisation Bandits, where teams competed for a $250 AUD prize pot, Adapt has announced that ACS will be returning shortly for its second edition.
With both Bandits and Eclipse, who also have a top 16 OCE RLCS team, now on board, the tournament boasts a new format and improved prize pool of $330 AUD. The season will run from February 3rd to 24th, containing 3 weeks of group stage action with the top 8 teams qualifying for playoffs.
ACS will additionally be experimenting with different formats, with week 1 boasting a double elimination bracket, week 2 is a 5 team groups - double elimination format, similar to the winter split of RLCS, and the week 3 format is double elimination groups - single elimination, the same as the old RLO Masters format, and for any sideswipe fans, the same as the RLO Swipe Series.
The points given out for weeks 1-2 are as follows:
1st: 101
2nd: 80
3rd: 60
4th: 50
5th-6th: 40
7th-8th: 30
9th-12th: 20
12th-16th: 10
Before a boost in points for week 3 in an attempt to create a higher degree of importance on the final week:
1st: 121
2nd: 100
3rd-4th: 80
5th-8th: 60
9th-16th: 30
Can't wait for the event's commencement this time next week as the tier 2 OCE Rocket League scene not only has a great opportunity to earn some cash and recognition, but also to gain valuable training and experience for future RLCS events and opportunities.
