For the past 5 or so years, CRL has worked to great a foundational scene for up and coming Rocket League players to progress, as well as offering the support and security of college scholarships and opportunities.
However, the nurturing, positive affect of CRL, which as mentioned by Psyonix themselves, ‘has exceeded our expectations as a league’, has been limited to just NA competition. Yet this year, that all changes, as CRL will be expanding to include community university leagues in Europe.
This means that CRL will now contain an EU Conference, NA Eastern Conference, and NA Western Conference. In addition with CCA Open, a $20,000 event for teams who just missed out on CRL league play, these leagues will help determine which teams compete in the first ever CRL World Championship.
It’s exciting to see Psyonix not only deeply care about the structure and development of the competitive ecosystem, but also to be valuing their players and the opportunities they’re provided with for the future, and I can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store for CRL.
