Endpoint came into the season with a host of unknowns, but they’ve now solidified themselves near the top of Europe. With a roster containing Metsanauris, a veteran of the scene who has reshaped his game in recent years and has a vast level of experience, RelatingWave, who’s been quickly developing since his rookie season in Season 8 RLRS, and Seikoo.
Yes, RelatingWave and Metsanauris are crucial aspects of the Endpoint lineup, with MetsaNauris’ coolness under pressure and experience pairing with RelatingWave’s growing offensive pressure making Endpoint a real presence. But the factor that separates them from the tier below, is Seikoo, the French phenom.
After being banned in Season X, Endpoint took a gamble on the 17 year old prodigy, and wow did it pay off. In their first ever event in Fall, Endpoint placed 1st, backing this up with another 1st in event 3 to secure the #1 EU seed heading into Stockholm.
Although Endpoint didn’t quite translate their performance from online onto LAN, they still scraped their way into the top 8, including a game 5 overtime win over NRG, where Seikoo was overwhelmingly strong, and shutting G2 out of the competition, to make a top 8 berth.
In Winter, Endpoint didn’t exactly set the world alight, but they were still solid, with a 4th in event 1 and 2nd in event 3. For Endpoint, the key is the confidence in their play that seems to be more present when playing together as a team, which will be crucial to maintain during the Winter Major.
Even with the pressure of his first ever proper crowd, we know that Seikoo will perform under the pressure. Instead, the most important factor will likely be whether the Finnish veteran, Metsanauris, can return to his earlier career LAN dominance and help to lift the team into the high placings.
Endpoint’s group, B, is also going to be a tough one. NRG will be tough to beat again, Renagades had their number in Stockholm, and Furia’s reckless speed and mechanics could be a problem. If they get out of groups, their likely to play FaZe, V1, or perhaps even Queso in first round of playoffs, none of whom will be easy, and thus creating a monster path for Endpoint to make top 8.
