Lightsaber and Redeyes2 Qualify
Lightsaber played well throughout the tournament, including a win over Niklas in his bracket Semi-Final match. Lightsaber won that series 3-2. He swept canask in the Pool Final to move on to the Final 8.
In the Final 8 he beat Leny 3-2 and going on to sweep Grathis to qualify for the EU Masters.
Redeyes2 from 404 Esports had a good Pool draw, with the only real threats being PlayingWithFab and Akunai who is one of his team mates at 404 Esports.
In the Final 8 he beat Smartos in a close match with the result being 3-2 in Redeyes2’s favor. He then swept LonnasRL from Team Mystic to seal his spot in the EU Masters.
Congratulations!
DQ Filled Brackets
When looking at the brackets, something that surprised me the most was how many DQs there were in the Pool Brackets.
You may ask, why? I do not know why. But it is quite disturbing. With most of the top players coming out on top, this may be a sign that the bracket styles should be changed for the EU tournaments.
Big Names Have Yet to Qualify
With only one more Qualifier left, this leaves the question, who will qualify? With only 2 players qualifying per week, there will be a number of people missing out.
Leny
Smartos
Niklas
Grathis
cuzze
All of these players have not qualified. You may know them from the Leaderboards, or even their 2v2 Tournaments placements. But none have qualified for the 1v1 EU Masters.
With 1 more Qualifier next week, it will be interesting to see who breaks through the competition.
