EU Winter Regional Event 3 Predictions

In a tightly contested region, Europe's Winter split will come to a close this coming Sunday, and with so many teams still in contention for a spot in LA, it's going to be all to play for.

Group A:

Once again, Luminosity have been faced with the challenge of BDS in groups, this time for the third regional in a row. Although they'll struggle to get the win on their third attempt, their previous regional form, with a win over Dignitas, should see them through over Misfits in a tight one, with Kuxir's Minions just a step below these two contenders for LA.

Group B:

Similarly to Group A, this group could prove to be a very tough one for Rix in their second main event of the season. Dignitas will be hungry to lock in their LA ticket, and prove they're still one of Europe's best, in a dominant performance, whilst EG will carry their form and consistency from regional event 2 to edge out Karmine Corp for second.

Group C:

This group will go right down to the wire, trust me. Although Queso should finish first based off their last two performances, there is still possibility for wobbles as a newer team to the top. From there, it's the battle of the next tier of the region, but Vitality's experience and hunger for LA is our pick to see them through in 2nd, whilst Guild continues their climb back to the top with another win over 00 Nation for 3rd.

Group D:

Arguably the weakest group of the four, despite having 3 Stockholm major teams, all of these lineups are ones out of form, and will be looking to grasp this opportunity with both hands. Looking for Endpoint to receive their bootcamp buff to finish first, Archie to lead SMPR to the win over Williams Resolve for 2nd, and Resolve ultimately overpowering the still uncertain NAVI for 3rd.

Upper Semi Finals:

With Endpoint still fighting for their spot in LA, and receiving the benefits from boot camp that they’ve has before, they’ll be our pick to overcome BDs in a thriller in their upper bracket semi final matchup.

Dignitas will also be looking to prove themselves, having been knocked out by Queso twice in a row, and will come out swinging in their yellow/black newly blossomed rivalry.

Early Lower Bracket Rounds:

This is where major chances are made or broken, and there’s truly some fierce matchups on display. EG will win out their rematch with Misfits just as they did last regional, sending them packing, Vitality’s experience and coolness under pressure will guide them pass the rising Resolve, Luminosity’s run of form will continue with a take down of supposedly super team KC, and SMPR will outgun the rebirthing Guild.

From there, in top 8, the battles will really become tense, and you can be sure that none of these series‘s will be one sided. I’m tipping Kaydop to turn back the clock with a big series to take down EG, keeping themselves alive and kicking, and Luminosity to finally find the ice to win in the big moments, sending SMPR out of major contention.

But unfortunately for Vitality, BDS are a whole other beast and the series will prove too much for them to overcome, even in peak performance, as they fall in a tight game 7, before Queso extinguish Luminosity’s hopes and leaving them to ponder what could’ve been if not for their horrific draws.

Top 4:

With the teams having now secured their spot in LA, and the big 4 of Europe being secured, this will be the battle for pride and seeding at the major. Dignitas will be hungry for a return to grands, and with Endpoint having secured LA, they may drop off after a stressful weekend, before BDS demolishes Queso to prove that they’re still a step above the new guard.

BDS’ run will continue past Endpoint to lock in a battle between arguably the reason’s top 2, which will go right down to the wire before Dignitas are able to use their experience and momentum from the upper bracket to crawl across the line for their first win of the split.
