The second event of the NA winter split contains 4 evenly balanced groups that promise to make for interesting results. With two previous major contenders clinging onto hopes for the winter major, three teams making their winter debut, and a big tussle at the top for dominance, here are our picks for NA regional event 2.

Group A:

The Gentlemen may have looked very impressive in closed qualifiers, but this group is another breed. NRG looked mighty impressive in the first event, and will definitely continue their run in Group A. Version1 and Rogue are both dark horse teams that will be looking for a major spot, however, on form, V1 looks to be the stronger team.

Group B:

Although FaZe should dominate this group, the other three appear to be very evenly matched, with not much separating them. We're banking on Ghost returning to their fall split form where they qualified for back to back top 8's, with Oxygen's recent top 6 and experience holding them above the rising stars in NXT, who will be sure to put on a show, no matter what happens.

ree

Group C:

Group C is the group of redemption, with G2 looking to go further than last event's 5th place, XSET hoping to prove they still belong in the playoffs, and Envy searching for a spark to ignite their last ditch major efforts. G2's rising chemistry with an already scary Atomic should see them through in first, whilst the Soniqs' will be able to provide two upsets over Envy and XSET to go through in second, with Envy's rising chemistry and desire of such successful players enough to claw out of groups.

ree

Group D:

Full credit to Charlotte Phoenix for making main event, but with 3 top 8 teams in your group, there's not a whole lot you can do. SSG will definitely pick up where they left off in event 1, and Complexity have been back to training in the last two weeks after a pre split hiatus which will see them return to form in second.

ree

Upper Semi-finals:

The big 4 of NA Rocket League where they belong. NRG and FaZe will be looking to put their grip firmly on the top 2 spots in the region, with the major finalists and semi finalists both going through to winners finals.

Early Lower Bracket Rounds:

This is where the most important runs are made for teams looking to scrape into the major. Rogue should have the pace to outlast Ghost, Soniqs will continue their run to take down SR in 7, but run out of steam against Rogue, Version1 will take down fellow top 6 breakout getters Oxygen, and Complexity will prove that Envy is still struggling in Atomic's absence, before their own lack of solid preparation in the lead up comes back to haunt them in round 2. SSG vs Rogue will be exciting with the battle of the prodigies, yet Daniel has appeared the better of the two recently and will push SSG to back to back top 4s, whilst G2 will extract game 7 overtime revenge against V1 in the other lower quarter final.

ree

Top 4:

SSG will look to prove that the gap between top 3 and 4th is demanding with a confident win over G2, whilst FaZe and NRG will cement themselves as the two best in NA, with FaZe lighting up the field with incredible mechanics from what could be the beginning of a super team dominance.
