All Top Seeds Win Round 1

To my surprise, there were no upsets in the first round. More games were streamed last night. 2 first round matchups were streamed. aNoahh v. Axey and Alex v. Slwmoo. Round 1 had a few close matches. wizbabe69 lost to Amir after taking the series lead 2-1 but dropped the last two games.

aNoahh Beats rayzox

Another surprise was aNoahh beating rayzox in the Upper Quarter-Final. aNoahh does not play the game much other than the tournaments so this was a huge win, beating rayzox 3-2.

Alex Wins 2 Close Series Back to Back

In the Upper Semi-Final, Alex beat Amir with a match result of 3-2. He moved on to play against the 8 seed aNoahh in the Upper Final. He won that series 4-3.

In the end he finished 2nd, losing to rayzox in the Grand Finals 4-3.

Beeps Makes Lower Bracket Push

Beeps started off strong in the Upper Bracket beating Blossuhm in Round 1, but got swept by Alex in the Quarter-Final.

In Round 2 of the Lower Bracket, he beat Emeric from QcL, with a match result of 2-0. He moved on and swept Fnord. Then upsetting Aslan in the Lower Bracket Quarter-Final 3-1. He then hit a wall and lost to rayzox 3-2 to end his run. Finishing in 4th place.

Takeaways

With a successful first big event in the books for NA Sideswipe. What’s next? Nothing is confirmed yet, but I think everyone would be glad to play in more tournaments.
