The kings of OCE return to international competition in LA for the second major straight, and will be looking to prove the worth of minor region’s at the highest level. A roster that combines experience with flair, RNG is arguably OCE’s super team. With the combination of Kamii’s incredible experience, having attended every RLCS LAN open to OCE thus far, CJCJ’s perfect positioning and Fever’s rising mechanical prowess, the Renegades are truly a team to look out for in LA.

In Fall, the Gades produced a solid overall performance, winning 2 events regionally before taking down the #1 seed of both EU and SAM in Stockholm to finish in 9th-11th. A more than solid performance, RNG looked to be keeping pace with the world’s best for the most part, and certainly representing the region with pride.

After a strong split, the Renegades kept the same lineup heading into Winter, where they were able to make triple top 3s in order to secure their qualification as the #1 seed for LA. They’ve looked consistent, their chemistry appears to be only growing stronger, and the team looks primed for top 8 in the Winter major.

As far as experience goes, RNG is one of the more experienced in the field. Kamii has attended worlds 6 times, and CJCJ thrice, as well as the lineup gaining recent experience through their matches in Stockholm. The only concern in this aspect is Fever, who’s yet to play in front of a crowd, and even with the aid of two experienced veterans, it will be interesting to see if OCE’s new mechanical god will be able to handle the pressure of the Youtube Theatre.

Additionally, the team is definitely not without their own issues. CJCJ’s shooting in Stockholm was horrific, Kamii struggled to find any offensive space, and Fever lacked the space he needed to create opportunities for his top shelf finishes.

Hopefully, RNG have learnt from their struggles in Stockholm and will respond even stronger here in LA, and with a 2 week bootcamp to prepare them for the event, you’d have to back them in to do so.

In terms of their group, it’s a double edged coin. On one hand, there’s no easy wins, and every match will be fought to the death, with NA champions NRG also going to prove tough to overcome. But on the other hand, they’ve got the two teams they took down in Stockholm, Endpoint and Furia, in their group, teams they know they’re capable of beating, and could be able to produce some big performances against.

A top 12 performance, coming from that group, would be a decent performance, but with the potential this roster has, it would be great to see them move up into the top 8 range.
