The top 4 of the first event or winter have been determined, with some lines drawn in the sand and a few dominant performance making for an interesting day of action.
Lower Bracket Round 2:
Singularity, a new team to the limelight, was always going to struggle against the experienced Vitality, but this matchup quickly turned into a demolition. Alpha looked on song for Vitality, and with Kaydop appearing more in tune than in previous events, Vitality netted 16 goals in 3 games to produce a demanding sweep.
Angered after being sent to lowers straight from groups, Dignitas today looked hungry, and unfortunately for Karmine Corp, they were on the receiving end. After two passing plays between Joreuz and ApprentlyJack set up an overtime game 1 victory, ScrubKilla was brutal in defence, leading Dignitas to shut outs in games 2 and 3 to produce a dominant, scary sweep of the French major contenders.
Upper Semi-finals:
BDS are the best team in the world, and there’s no doubt about it. Although Seikoo was admirable in defeat, scoring some big time goals, the BDS pace and chemistry was ultimately suffocating. Their ability to find angles and put the ball on net, even if it doesn’t result in goal, and even though Monkey Moon didn’t have the most consistent series, a game 1 dunk to get BDS off to a perfect start exhibited why this team is so damn good. BDS win 4-1, and lock in a top 3 finish.
One of the most important series’ of the split came between the two teams that surprised the world by coming out of groups on top, and with so many fearsome competitors, a top 3 finish being clinched was in desperate need. With 5 overtimes in this closely contested series by Williams Resolve and Team Queso, the two teams were led by spartan defensive efforts from Radosin and rise. respectively, before a Vatira double tap in game 7, champions field overtime secured Queso an incredibly crucial 4-3 victory.
Lower Quarter-finals:
Endpoint proving that there’s a good reason not only why they’re considered one of the best in EU, but also why Vitality is fading fast. Fairy Peak was a shell of his former self, unable to even find the net once as a combination of RelatingWave’s passing and precision, paired with Seikoo’s relentless offense, set Endpoint up for a confident 4-0 sweep, sending Vitality away to kick their wounds and feel grateful for a top 6 finish, as Endpoint look dangerous going into tomorrow.
That game 7 loss would unfortunately prove to be the nail in the coffin for Williams Resolve, as they fell at the hands of the angry beast, Dignitas. Dignitas were hungry, aggressive, and brutal from the get go, Bra71ling Resolve with a devasting 5 goal performance from Joreuz leading the way early on, before ScrubKilla showed his shooting poise in the following 3 games to produce a commanding 4-0 sweep to lock in a top 4 finish.
