After he skipped out on the Fall split of RLCS 21-22, it seemed that a retirement was imminent, but that doesn’t mean this announcement hurts any less, as 25 year old Victor ‘Ferra’ Francal decides to officially step away from RLCS.
After an early career spent battling away in Go4’s and weekly cups, Ferra found his calling in the 3rd season of RLCS with Sikii and Snaski on The Leftovers. They placed 3rd in Europe, and upon running the losers bracket at worlds, placed 4th at the season 4 finals, including their upset win over previous world champions Flipsid3 Tactics.
Throughout the following seasons, Ferra was as consistent as they come, placing top 6 in Europe every season between 4-X, as well as a European championship and as an additional 4-time contender at worlds.
Yet Ferra’s success was not only limited to RLCS, as he was one of the strongest performers in the Dreamhack LAN events where he would conquer world champions and top tier competitions to claim Dreamhack Leipzig in 2018 and Valencia in 2019 with the PSG lineup.
Despite the sadness that comes behind Ferra’s departure, a mixture of falling out of love with the game, feeling pushed out of the scene due to age, and the scene’s general toxicity, Ferra still had an unbelievable career, and we wish him the best of luck with whatever he chooses to do in the future.
