With all the hype surrounding big name rookies, international organizations joining the scene, and high end roster changes, it can often be easy to forget the rising teams, looking to pop the bubble and replace the region’s former kings. One of those lineups is WYLDE, and now under the ownership of 8 time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, who seem on the verge of big things in Spring.
WYLDE reentered the scene in late 2021 with the acquisition of ‘Vibe Vibin’, and have kept the same roster since then. And the lineup certainly isn’t void of talent. With young Lithuanian prodigy simas, rising phenom Crispy (and we’ve certainly seen what underrated, teenage English players are capable of), and Mingo’s experience, WYLDE have been putting in the work to make it into Europe’s high end.
They‘ve showed glimpses of promise throughout the season, with closed qualifier victories over Team Liquid twice, as well as Team Singularity, WYLDE have well and truly proved themselves capable of matching some of Europe’s best. Now, it comes down to whether or not WYLDE can rise when it matters. Although their youth and nerves have perhaps held them back in the past, the increased backing from recent times and ever rising experience can really only push WYLDE upwards in Spring.
With the caliber of high level teams in Europe, it’s very tough to see WYLDE pushing far in events. However, Spring should be the split in which we see this rising team finally reap the rewards of their hard work with a main event debut.
